What are your shipping rates?

When shipping to multiple addresses, shipping is charged per address:

Am I able to track my package online?

If you provided us with your email address, you will receive an email confirmation from our air courier service that contains the tracking number as well as delivery information. If you do not have an email, please call our toll-free number 1.800.935.5510, and we would be happy to provide you with the tracking information.

Will I receive a confirmation once my order is shipped?

If you provide us with your email address, a confirmation will be sent once the order has been shipped.

Am I able to pick up my order in the retail store?

Yes, orders may be picked up in our Hilo Retail Store; not available at our Ala Moana Center location. You can place your order on our website, and at checkout select “Deliver to You” and “Pickup Hilo Retail,” and we will have your order available in 1 - 2 days. You may also call our toll-free number, and we’d be happy to assist you with your pickup order.

Can I make changes to my online order once it’s placed?

Once your order is placed, we are unable to make changes to items purchased. If there are name, address or gift-message changes, we are able to update that.

Can I choose a future ship date for my online order?

Currently you are not able to choose a future ship date for online orders. If you need a future ship date, please call our toll-free number, and one of our customer-service representatives can assist you.

Am I able to ship to multiple addresses?

Yes, you are able to ship to multiple addresses. Please call our toll-free number 1.800.935.5510 so that we may provide you with a form to make the ordering process easier.

Do you have any other locations?

While our retail locations are exclusive to Hilo, Hawaii, and on the island of Oahu at Ala Moana Center, Street level 1, Center Court near Centerstage, we are able to ship most of our products all over the United States, as well as to Japan and Canada. For shipping information to countries other than Japan and Canada, please call our toll-free number 1.800.935.5510.

How long will it take to get my package?

Your order will be sent promptly based on when it was received and the next available ship date, generally within three to five (3 - 5) business days. During the Holiday Season we reserve the right to select the next available ship dates. Addresses within the State of Hawaii are usually delivered in 1 - 2 business days once shipped. Orders to the Continental U.S. are usually delivered in 2 - 3 business days once shipped. Orders are normally shipped via air courier service. Please note: Carrier/shipping delays may occur due to circumstances beyond our control, such as weather conditions.

Am I able to ship to a P.O. Box or to an APO/FPO/DPO address?

We do ship to P. O. Boxes and APO/FPO/DPO addresses, however, we cannot guarantee the amount of time that it will take to have the parcel delivered or the condition of the product once it’s received.

Do you ship internationally? How much is the delivery cost?

We ship to Japan and Canada. All duties & taxes are paid in advance to Big Island Candies and included in the freight cost; recipients will not be responsible for paying additional costs upon delivery. Are we able to ship to our hotel during our stay?

Provide us with ample time, as well as the name and address of your hotel, the dates of your stay, the name under which your reservation is listed, and we can send the order to your hotel.

How long will your products last?

In general, most of our products have a 6- to 8-week shelf life but we highly recommend to enjoy your purchase within 2 weeks of purchase for the most optimal taste, quality and freshness.

How should I store my products?

Products should be kept in a cool, dry environment.

What kind of sweetener do you use in your sugar-free items?

We use maltitol because many of its properties resemble sugar while not causing significant increases in blood sugar or insulin levels. Like some high fiber foods, maltitol may cause gas and/or have a laxative effect depending on an individual’s sensitivity and how much is consumed.

Do you have any products that do not contain nuts?

We do offer several shortbreads and brownies that are not manufactured with intentionally added tree nuts. Additionally, our Mika Mints, Harumi Cookies, Pineapple Manju, Bite Size Coffee Cookies, Milk Chocolate Dipped Ika, Milk Chocolate Covered Animal Crackers, Sweet & Salty Snack Mix, Ground Coffees, and Apple Pie are not manufactured with any intentionally added nuts. As you shop, we have a filter under each category entitled, “No Nuts,” which will be helpful to you as well. Please note that these products are processed in a plant that handles tree nut products and thoroughly washes, cleans, and sanitizes all equipment on a daily and as needed basis.

Do you have any products that are not made with gluten?

Yes, we do (see below), but do not consider Big Island Candies as a gluten-free facility. Products made with gluten ingredients and products made without gluten ingredients are manufactured in the same facility. Please note that all equipment is thoroughly washed, cleaned, and sanitized on a daily and as needed basis. For individuals with celiac the following products contain rice crispies which are made with barley malt which is considered a source of gluten: Hawaiian Macadamia Nut Crunch Chocolates and Big Island Crunch Bar.
