Big Island Candies’ Partnership with the “Adopt-a-Beehive with Alan Wong” Program

Big Island Candies is all abuzz! During May 2026, order our Sunny Bee Tote, and a portion of the proceeds from the sale of this gift box will be donated to the University of Hawaii Foundation, benefiting the “Adopt-a-Beehive with Alan Wong” program.

Here’s a little background about this (buzz)worthy cause: In 2011, Chef Alan Wong partnered with the University of Hawaii at Hilo to build awareness of the critical plight of honey bees, and to promote local solutions to sustaining the honey bee industry. The Program supports the education of student beekeepers, promotes the research and development of healthy beehive practices in Hawaii, and educates the public about the vital role that honey bees play in sustaining agriculture and our food supply.
