Bilingual Customer Service


Ala Moana Store (Honolulu, Hawaii)

Position open for a Bilingual Customer Service Team Member, requirements include fluency in Japanese to assist our Retail team, as well as ability to serve as an exceptional Brand Ambassador to all of our visitors—local, mainland and international alike.

Additional requirements include:

  • Extraordinary customer service skills, whereby you could be greeting guests with a smile; assisting others in the aisles; perhaps serving tasty treats with a side of pleasant conversation; ringing up purchases at the register, never forgetting that heartfelt “Mahalo”;
  • Lend a hand to other store-related activities as needed.

Ala Moana Store hours are: Sunday, 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.; Monday – Saturday, 9:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., subject to extended hours during the holidays and peak periods.

Celebrations Assistant Manager


Hilo, Hawaii (on The Big Island)

Big Island Candies is seeking an incredibly detailed Assistant Manager for Celebrations who will uphold the brand’s reputation for producing high-quality products and delivering high-level customer service. Requirements include: Assisting the team in creating elegant specialty gift items; possessing a creative mindset, a sophisticated sense of style, and a meticulous eye for ensuring finished products meet or exceed brand expectations. In addition, provide assistance to the Celebrations Manager with special projects, day-to-day operations and seasonal planning, with a sharp focus on inventory management.

Additional qualifications and attributes include:

  • Exceptional organizational skills, for example in order to meet deadlines, including ones for special projects with quick turnaround times;
  • Excellent communication skills, especially when assisting with training, motivating and managing staff to help maintain a cohesive, efficient team;
  • Possess a general knowledge of various employment laws and practices, as well as employee relations;
  • Strong ability to nurture relationships with existing vendors/suppliers, while being proactive in the search for new relationship opportunities;
  • Display solid negotiating skills with vendors, in order to obtain the best prices and cost-effective shipping methods;
  • Consistent interest in researching and identifying new industry trends;
  • Knowledge of basic math;
  • Proficient in using the Internet; email; Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Physical requirements include:

  • Frequent standing and walking;
  • Bending, lifting and stretching, during the creation and assembly of specialty items and baskets;
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.;
  • Ability to climb a stockroom ladder.

Hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., subject to operational changes. Weekends/nights/overtime, subject to peak/seasonal periods and operational needs.
